What have you forgotten to do to your bus before driving it?

Tonight, popped down to fuel up before going away tomorrow. She was going well, filled up and went the scenic route home, big on my face. Got back on the drive, opened the garage door and as I pulled in she started missing. I got out to look in the engine bay and blipped the throttle a couple of times and there was a nasty rattle. Turned out to be the dizzy cap not clipped down on both sides and it was rattling around. How it didn't come off whilst driving :shock: . Glad I found it before our trip out. I had not clipped it up after checking the TDC for tappet gaps last weekend :roll:

When I fitted the splitty K&L beam, I managed to not fit the split pin to the pivot between brake pedal and master cylinder pushrod. Would have been handy if that had worked itself out. Not.

I drove 2 miles with no lid on or windows in to spray my van, I thought the engine was lovely & cool with the engine lid off :lol:
I once went out on my Monkey bike got 1/2 mile up the village road & realised I'd not put my crash helmet on

I got the van out a few weeks ago to air it all out, lifted the pop top to dry out the canvas.........Due to the sun shining I thought I'd take it for a spin. Well you can guess the rest, I thought people were just waving because I was driving a VW :roll:

No damage done and i only got to the bottom of my hill. :lol:

but my worst was driving off when i hadn't tightened up my rear wheel bolts, luckily i noticed JUST before the wheel came off, I always double check things now!

The engine lid thing always gets me scratching my head. When i was out in Cairo i noticed that all the buses they use as taxis/buses run around in that staggering heat with the engine lids open. :shock:

Forgot keys (loads of times), when i first got it kept getting right hand front seat and its lhd :lol:
Engine lid open, forgot battery was on charge, and to shut sliding door.

Next thing is slightly off subject. Was a VW action last year with the ex missus, was as pissed as a fart, she reckoned i was an embrassesment and went back to the van, i carried on drinking and trying to dance, about 2am thought i'd turn in, took me ages to find what i thought was my van opened door and started getting in bed........ Then a MASSIVE bloke sat up said ' who the **** are you grabbed me by the neck and threw me 'literally' out of his camper. OUCH

Good thing he woke up, me being drunk and thinking that was my bird in my van..... Need i say more
