Spent all day in the garage - got a few things done...

Removed drivers side seat runner to make room for my Porsche seat (passenger side already in) - bit of a pain drilling/chiselling and grinding.
Removed drivers side seatbelt mounting bolt - great to use my air impact wrench for the first time!
Turned over and started engine for the first time in 18 months - a bit smoky but ran well.
Spent the rest of the day under the front of the bus scraping off waxoyl and hammerite to check the condition of the chassis forward of the beam - not as bad as I thought but still quite a few repairs to do - should help improve my welding and fabricating skills. Bit of a mixed blessing really, the waxoyl looks to have been applied when the bus was very new and has (by and large) held up very well - the previous owner painted EVERYTHING in silver hammerite which has helped keep the time worm at bay but makes it difficult to see what's happening under there; it'll all have to come off!
Thinking of getting a sandblasting kit to aid with the tricky areas - any advice gratefully received...
All I've got to do now is sweep up 4 pounds of rust flakes that fell out of the front panel!!!

;)

Well done J&M and I believe crap in the hair is all the rage in Paris this year
