Been having intermittent starting probs, once every 3 months or so. All symptons point to solinoid, no click, 1 gentle tap and it starts, does it hot or cold so do not think its the old hot start problem. any way waiting for it to happen when i have a multimeter to hand to confirm solinoid is getting juice! Have read elsewhere that if you fit a starter from an autobox bus you do not need a starter bush? has anyone done or heard of this? can anyone foresee any problems with it? Although, when looking to see if big job to remove starter found no nut on top mounting bolt so have just replaced that, could that have been causing the problem?

All advice/ideas gratfully recieved.

thanks folks

The nut missing on the top is a prime suspect as it causes starter to jam .. the bush can cause similar probs too ..

.. not sure about the auto starter ..

I would leave it a while and hope its cured it .. ;)
