I HAVE A 1972 CROSSOVER PANEL VAN EARLY 1972 ABOUT JANUARY,THERE IS NO ENGINE AND BOX IN IT THE VIN PLATE SAY'S VW TYPE21AD SO WHAT ENGINE SHOULD BE IN IT THE OLD 1600 OR A FLAT TYPE ENGINE?

WHERE WOULD I FIND THE GEARBOX CODE ??? I THOUGHT IT SHOULD HAVE A 1600 ENGINE BUT THE HOLE IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT WERE THE ENGINE GOES IS ALOT LARGER THAN MY SPLITSCREEN VAN WAS.HOW DOES IT ALL GET SEALED ONCE ENGINE IS IN PLACE ? SPLITSCREEN ONE HAD A BOLT IN REAR VALANCE THAT MADE IT A TIGHT FIT ONCE IT WAS ALL IN .

The engine bay is considerably bigger than a split. The tinware makes it all fit at the end of the day. Get yourself a manual for the bay window it will explain a lot.

P.S turn the caps lock off it's more polite that way
