Whats the verdict on this?

I knew it was a bit crusty in the corners behind the seat bulkhead but wasn't expecting to see big holes either side in the pillars.

The van's had a bit of a hatchet job resto some time in it's past which is clear from the burnt untreated paint in the pictures. What I would like to know though is what is the easiest and best way to replace the inner pillars, can I cut out the bad metal and just weld in some fabricated patchs or are these areas more structural then that would allow?

Bit more structural really as the inner 'b' post ties the inner sills/jacking point together.
