If your current wheels are 5.5 ET 39 (5x112?) and the slots 5.5 ET 23 they will "stick out" exactly 16mm, one inch with dropped spindles.

The new Speedmasters (5x112 6J ET 38 ) will sit almost the same as standard wheels.

The 5x112's are ET 32 ;)

Can I ask Kempy - what was the conclusion... cause this has confused the hell out of me! I'd like to stick sprintstars on mind but just want to bolt them straight on...am I playing with fire or is that cool according to your figures above? Cheers dude

There are essentially 3 types - OG (but different widths), Falt 4 repros and MWS repros - all will have a different offset.
How do you have youre van lowered, and by how much?

Mine is an old skool beam adjustment and rear spline turn (4"?), and I have Flat 4 Sprints fitted with no issues. :)

I was going to go withe the Flat4...OG are way expensive and I don't hear great things about MWS.

This it the current height of the van....the front is lowered on an adjuster (think its called foxy or something like that!)

If I can't go with the sprints then I'll stay on the steels

MMMC - 8)

'Bout the same as mine, Flat4's will be fine -

Clem...thats good news mate....your van looks way cool with those wheels...what size tyres you running?

In the pic they have 195/60x15 rear and 165/50x15 fronts - these were on the rims when I got them though and were suited for a split crew cab.

I have some 195/70x15 for the rear and 185/65x15 for the front. This should retain the gear ratio and give enough 'rubber to road' at the front whilst reatining a nice 'filled arch' look, I think/hope.

:x having now read this may have to go out to buy some narrower tyres!!! was looking to fit BRM reps which have 205/50/15's on but guess 185 may be as fat as I can go now on the back...have 185/55/15's on the front......haven't fitted the rears as I have been cleaning them up a bit..note to self check before buying!!!

I measured a wheel today and got the ET of a standard wheel @ 45mm.
Based on most BRM's @ 11mm it would be a bloody tight fit on the rear so tyre choice is crucial.

I could be wrong with the ET of a stock as can't find a 100% answer.

Mike

If you've got a good wheel with original paint,ET is stamped near one of the bolt holes. Will try and get it of a wheel tomorrow.

Cheers steve,

Couldn't find anything stamped on the wheel today.

Found in a manual offset for small 5 stud is 41

Cheers Steve,
Didn't realise until I looked in to it that original wheels had such a good offset.

This is what I was trying to achieve from this post.

Check the link out.

Fantastic bus and spot on wheels etc.........

The owner fitted a 3" narrowed beam to get the wheels sitting like stock as needed to compensate for small ET & increase in track from the dropped spindles.

Well worth it though.
