Could anyone explain where this goes ?
Heritage buffer

I have been servicing my sliding door and replaced all the buffers and saw this on Heritage so bought is and thought it’s position would be obvious when I had it in my hand but it’s not! Says online it fits on the leading edge near lock, but I cannot fathom it. A picture of one in situ would be brilliant! Thanks……

That buffer only fits buses that were originally panel vans, they had different sliding door latches than windowed buses.

Don't know why this didn't post earlier, but the panel van latch plate is part no. 21 and the buffer sits against this.
Window van has the latch plate no. 19.



Parts no 41 & 42 are the buffer and buffer cage.

Interesting . My van was a panel van, didn't know door mechanism was different, must have a deco.

Yes mate and something about the internal lock too but I can’t remember what.

Panels vans don't have a front latch on the pillar, it's secured by the latch on the rear of the sliding door.
Microbuses, etc, have a front latch as well.
