Which Number Plate ?

My front number plate is discoloured and cracked as you can see on the pic, this was picked up as an advisory on the last MOT and I wasn't sure what the original plate on a '72 should be like, my '69 beetle had the pressed metal plates, would these be correct on a 72 :?: :?: thanks in advance for any advice

Correct. If you want to be period correct,then its Yellow/white plates with the raised black plastic digits that are crimped on from the rear.

Although the (very common & often mis applied) pressed black/silver plates are legal on vehicles registered before 1.1.73

Mine had pressed reflective white and yellow plates with black letters that were that came with it when new.

Yep as above. White and yellow plates with raised 3d letters crimped ones
