Hello all,
One job afore the sun comes out is to fit a split charger, had a look on Flea-bay and was swamped by choice..... I know bugger all about this subject so something that contains everything one would want and is easy as would be good, looking for quality over cheap.
Any recommendations ? Doesn't need to be Flea-bay....cheers.

I have a Durite voltage sensing split charger http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&alt=web&id=191468455764" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Real good bit of kit, 1 wire in and one out plus an earth!

I did have the usual relay jobbie before that with loads of wires but wasnt very happy with it!
Shop around if you decide on the Durite one as i ended up getting mine for £30 delivered

I splashed on a Durite , same one, and looks after both batteries whilst trickle charging.
Has the too much and too little effect as I call it. Voltage that is.

Hi,

67panel on here made an excellent mod to prevent ignition switch burnout and also split charge:

Cracking piece of kit with multiple advantages - was a while ago - he may still be doing them and worth a PM - mines going strong after 2 years 8)

Hi

I use a T Max split charge system, led display for both batterys, can also manually link batterys together

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/T-Max-Digital-Split-Charge-Relay-Dual-Battery-System-/110828967152" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

http://ebay.alroma.co.uk/green-lanes/ba2685_manual.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

The T-Max dual battery system automatically links two batteries for charging, but isolates them when discharging.

It has a manual over-ride feature, and built in safety protection.

The system is a 12 volt system with a 180A Load capacity.

Kit includes:

Solenoid
Display unit
All necessary wiring and connectors
Full instructions.
Specifications

Supply Voltage: 8 - 16V
System Voltage: 12V
Measuring Range: 8 - 16V
Display Range (battery voltage): 11 - 14.5V
Display Range (battery charging voltage): 13 - 14.5V
Accuracy: +/- 2%
Consumption (stand by): 5mA
Consumption Max. Display Active (45s): 150mA
Isolator Switch-on Threshold: 13.3V
Consumption On-state: 0.8A
Relay Continuous Load Current: 250A
Operating Temperature: -20 to +60c
Dimension: 103 x 21 x 66mm
Sealing Standard Version: IP40

No problems at all, comes with everything you will need, and very heavy duty relay, i have some pictures on my thread...

Cheers,

Alistair
