Whitewall or not to whitewall?

do Cookies suit whitewalls/white letters? your opinions please






i was mucking around in photoshop and used a pic of kombiporsche's wheels without walls.

The white lettering looks 8) IMO - not so keen on the white bands though. Was expecting full on white walls from the topic description - definitely no to those with cookie cutters!

White Lettering - most definitely yes!, white band / walls no. IMHO white walls only really suit 40s / 50s yank and some UK cars, never really looks right to me on a VW

I like the white walls, but not on them wheels, white letters are a defo! 8)

got white band tyres on my 68 on stock wheels in white with chrome hub caps , the 68 is white and im 50/50 on it at present :? the thing with white walls / bands are you got to keep em clean , if you dont they do look cack and not worth having on , no point really if they aint white :shock: finding stuff to keep em white can be a problem too , alot of tyre dressings do the job but fling off on the bodywork and leave black lines spraying outwards from centre to outer of tyre , bit like a spider on your white walls

johnny, did yoy manage to find some centre caps for your cookie cutters ?
mine went off for polishing today, the guy said i would be able to see my face in them when i get them back next week, not sure if thats a good thing.......................

i have a set just waiting on the snail mail, thanks for the heads up about Mick

ill be ordering a set of 18mm adapters when he gets them back in.

no probs johnny. mick was a great guy when i went up to see him and really helpfull. i got a set of adaptors off him but they are nearer 25mm than 18mm. but should still go on with no problem. if i cant squeeze 195 tyres on, 185's will still fit ok. good luck with yours.
