Wound my window down the other day and now it wont wind up!!! :( The handle just turns and nothing happens. The haynes manual says the whole unit must be replaced, but dont have time as was hoping to go camping this weekend. I will probably see if there is some way to fix the existing unit, but before i do has anyone had any experience of this occurence and possible remedy??

Sounds like the main gear may be spinning on the regulator or the drive cable's buggered where it gears in.

Not ideal but shows the internals of the regulator.

I've got two drivers doors(RHD) both with working windows. If you're desperate dude (I only live in Bewdley) I could rip one of em' out and meet you in Bridgenorth :?:

Have you taken the door card off? Cos I bet it is the little metal lift channel has broken at the welds where it meets the window winder. Take the door card off and have a nose. You can get a new one for about £3 :D

Took the door panel off and found that the cable and thingy that attaches to the bottom of the window had come out of the guide tube, so re-fitted this and window wound up and down ok but was very tight. The front door was rotten anyway and i bought a good door for £35 at Deva, so i swapped the doors over and hey presto, i have a solid door and a window that winds up and down ok too, 2 birds with 1 stone jobby :D

I love it when a plan comes together...
