Bit of advise please guys we have a camping trip planned with the kids and they don't sleep unless its dark

I've seen the silver screen covers and similar, some externally and some internally, which in your experience is the best way to go?

I feel the external one would cover the light a lot better but do they blow off or anything? The internal ones look a mission to fit with the sucker pads and I imagine them falling off in the night.

Also the kids love the ones with the Disney Cars Fillmore style eyes why can you get them? and are they anygood?

Thanks

Speaking to someone last week who has the interior stick on one's and he say's the suckers always come off !!!! looked a bit of a faff to me !!!
Save your money and leave the kids at home :D

I thought that might be the case!

 My kids love the camper more then I do, couldn't do that to them :msn4:

Where the best place to buy the external ones from?

Hi - have tried both, internal ones fall off - I assume as the windows mist up the suckers come off :( - I have an external one from JK that is good at keeping out the light, but a very tight fit - I recently put curtains on the inside (using the westy snap fixings) and this was a lot easier to fit (as didn't have to open doors e.t.c. and stretch out the cover) and could do it all from inside the van so is my current preferred solution, also looks better as the front matches the rest of the van when I have the curtains closed!

I got my external cover from Bluebird Customs. They loop over the top corners of the cab doors and there's a strap that ties to the cab door handles.

Are they black out? do they fit and work well? they look too good to be true for only £35 :)

I also have the bluebird ones, easy to fit and store and they do make it dark in there.

I also have one. Got it a bit cheaper on eBay from bluebird. One of the best things we ever bought. Does make quite a difference in terms of darkness and I guess abit of heat as well. Easy and quick to fit and drys quick too.

Yes and yes.

I have the internal jobbies, and yes they tend to come unstuck. Works better if you moistened the suckers prior to sticking, but leaves nasty marks on the windows next morning. A lot of faff imo!
They do work tho, heat and light wise! And i get all round black out, rather than just the cab.
Do like the look of those external covers tho.

Ive got the full set of internals - well happy with them, so much so that my planed curtain install has been scrapped
Never had any fall off thus far and they black it out well! They also store away in the sunroof void when not in use - well handy :?

a long time ago :-/ I did see some printed external covers - the ones ive seen in particular have been the japanese rising sun, and the eyes from the camper in cars. Are these sorts still available anywhere, or is there the possibility of getting them made to order? sorry for the sneaky hijack :p

I've got the Just Kampers internal ones.

Only used them once and was well impressed.

By the sounds of it the suckers don't last too long

Anyone used them long term ?

I bought the internal ones and they are sort of ok, great at blocking light but the two issues I had where:- one they didn't fit inside the Westy lourvered windows but could be wedged in ok. The windscreen was a little bit too small and let light in along both sides but was manageable.

I did notice that the Bluebird have reduced the price on the external cab wraps on ebay to £29.95 so ordered one :)
