Hi all,

This is my first post in this forum and I hope someone can help.

I'm wiring my new stereo to my '72 camper and the head unit instructions include;

"When this unit is installed in a vehicle without ACC (accessory) position on the ignition switch, the red wire must be wired to terminal that can detect the operation of the ignition key, otherwise battery will drain."

Reading the Bentley wiring diagram for '72, is it the terminal number "15" on the ignition switch?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated, cheers to all.

I always wire my stereo's to a permanent live, that way I can have the stereo on when camped up without leavingthe keys in the ignition.

If I leave my facia plate in it does drain, but when removed there is nop problem.

If you are concerned you could always put a descreet switch in the red line, just flick this on to power up. It would work fine.

As above

Just connect the yellow and red wires together and then connect these to a 12V+ connection onthe fuse box.
The stereo will work without the ignition but will also retain the memory settings of the radio.
Just take out the fascia to avoid any drain on the battery, although this is minimal

There is a colour wiring diagram on here.

cheers for that, there is a list of terminal number designations from the Bosch handbook, very helpful stuff, thanks again.
