? Kev

no electrical genios but if it worked before could you not try each function and have a mutimeter on to see what wires live with each function?
like i said no genius with the wiggly stuff also if the wires have been pissed about with before they may not be the right volour.

Unfortunately I dont have a meter Ile have to see if i can borrow one.

If you have a Maplin, Aldi, Halfords, you can get them for less than a tenner. Usefull to keep in the bus for fault finding.

If you have a electronic ignition like Pertronix, be carefull of leaving the ignition on to test indicators etc, as it may burn out the ignition module.

Cheers,

Alistair

You need a 12 volt test lamp.

Heres a few:- http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/sis.html?_nkw=CIRCUIT+TESTER+6+12v+TEST+LAMP+PROBE+LIGHT+6+12+volt+" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Hi Kev ,
You're welcome to pop round mine and look at my rear lights to check wiring, I'm only in town as you know. Call me on 07811351917 I'm about all weekend.
I've got the big rear lights though..
Dave

Thanks all, especially Dave for your offer but a mate popped round with a meter and we sussed it in, we now have right connections and a new earth. There seems to be no wires at all for reversing lights though, is this the norm on a 71 with the large lights ie a crossover

That'll be a 72 then...
The reverse is often omitted but I suspect that's a later omission. Simple and cheap to reinstate.
A switch fitted to the gearbox (it may be there already) a fused feed from the coil return to the light cluster

Glad you're sorted now.
Mine had no rev lights either ,I wired them up as Aaron said, I did post up a diagram on a thread once on here when someone else was asking how to not that long ago.
