If I have my drivers side wing mirror in the 'correct' upright position, it isn't tight enough in the door and wobbles. If I tighten it up, then it's too far forward. Has anyone got any ideas as to what I could do? I thought I may be able to shift the position of the arm but it doesn't look like I can.

I'll take some pics if that helps.
Thanks!

Fit a washer. You can buy a purpose plastic one from jk. But any fibre plastic type washer will do

unscrew the mirror from the door & make sure the locking nut is free to rotate on the arm - you should be able to hold the mirror in the correct place & tighten the lock nut to hold it in place.
make sense?

The nut isnt fixed to the mirror arm, it rotates around it. You can hold the mirror in the correct upright position while tightening the nut up to hold it in position. If your mirror is old the nut might have seized onto the mirror arm, a bit of WD40 should sort it.
