Yes as James has said we are trying to help them out to get them back on their feet and hopefully stay within the VW scene. I spoke to James at length the other night and if we can come to a deal that works for both sides we will look at taking on the damaged bus with the view to sorting the damage and getting it back onto the road in the future as its a rare bus.

I think James & Rach have spent so much time on the bus getting it to the point it was at before the fire thats its heart breaking to have to start some of that work all over again so if we can help them out then we will, thats what the VW scene and this forum is all about and I think they are both overwhelmed with the offers of support and help they have received.

Keep up the good work guys & gals

Thats terrible to read about the fire.As others have said if I too can help in any way don`t hesitate to ask,I`m Sheffield too
so If you want a lift or tools you only gotta ask,I`ll do my best to help.

Thanks for the generous offer its good know, i think i know who you are if you have a baby blue panel van with a white roof and an old vw or audi estate you live near my brother and you once come to my unit for ....can't remember but thank you again it is good to know. cheers fella.

OK guys, here's the update. We can't claim from anyone as no cause of the fire can be established, the guy who's unit burnt down has nothing, so we're cutting our losses and we're going to try and get as much money together as we can by selling all parts that have been saved from damage and :( by cutting the van up  to enable us to save up and get another van - might take a while, but we'll get there!

So, over the next few days, we'll be putting a list together of all the parts we have for sale. Watch this space...

It might take us a while to get the van panels on as we don't have the resources to cut it up at the moment, so please bear with us while we beg, steal and borrow

Cheers
James and Rach x

Its a shame its come to this  but im sure you will see it through.

If any of the interior panels survived, sliding door and panel opposite etc I would be interested, im sure all your bits will go quick, we all know its for a worthy cause ;)

Hi wibbler, it goes through me to do this, but we've thought long and hard about it, and it seems it's the only way we'll be able to get some of our money back...
If you have a look at this link http://forum.earlybay.com/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=15395" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; I was already selling the interior panel opposite the sliding door for £1 - I'll check it for you at the weekend when I go and start cleaning up, but think it escaped damage - if it did and you want it, it's yours :) - there wasn't one on the sliding door.

I can't believe I missed this thread - it's truly terrible news. My stomach lurched when I saw the pics - I can't even imagine how you must be feeling about it all (I fear I'd be as upset about my tools as anything else).

I hope you're able to find another van as a 'stop-gap', although I realise it won't be the same

I'm a long way from you, but if I can help with anything at all please do let me know.

Juss

;(

I can't believe this amazing offer of kindness, to all who read this i have just got off the phone to Scott as i had to phone him personally and thank him and let him know how gob smacked me and Rachel were at this offer.

We got this message at 1 o clock this morning after coming in from a gig and when we read it i'm not afraid to admit we were both almost crying, unfortunately i can't take Scott up on the offer as i can't promise to get the van finished as well as not having any tools or a unit to do it in i just don't have the funds now.

So my new plan is to sell as much as i can from the salvaged parts and save to get a van that is ready to get in and go, this way i don't have spend every spare second i have working on
it and get out and about to shows with the dogs and to see all you very very kind people.

Once again to finish off i can only offer the words thank for now however when i am back up and running if there is anything me and Rachel can do for anyone to help with anything just let us know and we will do it ( especially Scott we owe you big time ).

THANK YOU, THANK YOU J n R

guys you owe me nothing. Everyone was just hoping to get you sorted with the least stress and best outcome possible. Lets just hope you get some decent cash for the parts and are able to start again someday soon.

Please bear with us - we're cleaning parts as we go along, so it's constantly being updated. We're hoping to make body cuts available after w/c 3 August when we hire the cutting gear...
