Hi,

My van has the original keys and one key to fit all locks and ignition - its a 68 one year only handles so this problem is even more of pickle!

I have two keys with the van which look original but there pretty worn and the final turn of the key to kick the starter over is hard to get it to turn. IT`ll go most of the time with a bit of force (which i don`t like doing!)

I had a new key cut off the code which works on the doors, but suffers the same problem on the ignition. So i`ve come to the conclusion that one of the lock tumblers is worn and preventing the key(s) form turning easily.

Is there anyway of fixing the lock barrel itself? I`d rather use the original lock if possible as it fits my key.

Cheers, Mike

Have you tried taking it off, blowing some solvents through it, dusting it with graphite powder and reassembly. More likely to be sticky than worn I suspect.

I havent had time to look yet - I'll do this one night this week will though.

Cheers
