We are getting our Camilla sprayed later on in the year and we both really like the style in the link.

Does anyone else like it or are we just Crazy?

If your bus is white (or a pale/light colour) you could always get some black vinyl cut outs before committing to paint?

Hiya Cod,

Actually, I do like it.

I had considered painting the body of my 70 a camoflage pattern while keeping the top and bumpers Cloud White. I really liked that idea but I got to thinking...........will it look as good to me after months, years? I decided to go with a stock looking paint job instead. And it's worth noting that now, five years after painting I still admire the way this Bus looks. Dunno if I'd still like the camo.

i think it looks cool. we camped near a late bay this year with really smart tiger coulour scheme. it looked ace. maybe viynls before paint as mcvw said.

Personally no i wouldnt...theres allready a few bays and splits out there like it plus its not for me!.

BUT

As said above...Its your bus so do whatever you like.If you go for the black vynil and dont like it..all you have lost is a few quid 8)

not for me...

i would only do it if it used to be a safari vehicle or something. The only bus i have seen with 'graphics' on that i like is that angled graffiti one in sandy colours on here...

Bet hey that's just me, I'm probably doing stuff to mine that you wont like

you go for it!

I voted No mate, but thats just simply because I like clean and stock, if asked, I'd also vote 'No' to de-chroming,smoothing,'rat look' etc. for the same reason.
having said that, It would be a very boring scene if everyone liked what I like, or you liked - so just go with what YOU like.Thats why the VW scene is so interesting & fun - everyones personal expression.
best wishes - Rob!

Thanks for the comments, I hadn't even thought about Vinyl. I'll give that a go for a while and if I don't like it then I've only lost a few bob.

I still think it look cool, even if I was the only one who voted yes!

As already said i wouldn't paint it but vinyls might work, at lest with vinyls when the novalty wears off you can just remove them and polish ot the residue left behind, with paint its a re-spray.
I voted NO by the way :p

I have recently found out that our van was white at some point and then a PO as a fan of th Barbarians painted black stripes on  Even tho it has been restored since then and repained in OG colours the thought still horrifies me!!

As some have already said its your van so do whatever you want to it, having said that.....

What about putting a big roofrack on it (or front & rear ones) & jacking it up, ladder on the side & offroad tyres - would look a bit different from the norm & will get noticed at shows

Proper safari styleee - something like this:

...I voted no..it has been done a few times but I like it....warning would be.....

....when I go mine 70's hippy style 8) was the way to go (for me  )...then another bus turned up with "love bus" "flowers" "peace man" etc all over it........it looked awful

....it was then I realised just how damd clever those hippy types were and they could paint and design stuff and all......

...........I have no talent and so chose to leave well alone.....

I voted NO because the question you asked was
Would you spray your van this colour? no I wouldn't :(
But Im not you and if you like it :D go for it.
I painted half my van pale blue and wasn't sure if I liked it 60-40%
the wife didn't .This swayed me even more 40-60% then I showed a photo to
Steve (67 Bay) and he said "it looks Gay" Yeah what does he know
with his glittery roof   Hi Steve
Any way it had to go.I got some green and sprayed the front, two neigbours
commented "that looks a lot better than the blue" shocked because I
didn't like it  Now its going to be Matt Darkish Blue and I dont give a .....
what anyone thinks Ive sprayed a door in it and I like it :D

If your not 100% sure use vinyl first or take some photos from all sides
of your van and photoshop it to give you an idea and play around with the
stripe thicknesses :)

I voted No. prefer a clean plain van. I'd also suggest vinyls, but then I would wouldn't I

Give me a call if you want some making up, cheaper than a respray!

We did something similar to a customers van a while back, suspension was raised slightly anyway so put some slightly bigger tyres on it, painted it satin green, big roof rack, roobars on the front and 4 spot lamps. Looked pretty cool!
