Pretty sure its a CF8 Can the guys in the know tell me whether this would be suitable? and what features it actually has?

Just found a manual:- http://www.club80-90.co.uk/pages/downloads/docs/zig-cf8.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

will have a read up :D does anyone else run one of these thou?

It's fine. I've got one in the bus, with the mains hook-up in the bottom of the wardrobe unit.

Have a read through the instructions on this link.

Very easy to install and wire.

yeah i run one to manage the leisure battery and the 12v lighting, and 240 hook up no good for a 12v fridge though, watch if your using it as a split charger (i dont) as you have to run suitable cable to handle the current

You can run a 12v frisge off yiur liesure battery through a suitable fuse then use the leisure battery as a split charger. Therefore running a fridge indirectly of the leisure battery

Out of interest Richard, what dobyou mean suitable wiring? What thickness wiring would you need. I presume you would need to consider the amperage of the alternator and use 0.5mm per 5A guide as a rule of thumb. Dont have my bus to hand or my manual for cf8 but is this part not fused ti make sure you don't overload the wiring...that is you dont under spec your wiring that it burns our before the wires

not sure of the total maths behind it but its to do with the balance of the starter battery and the leisure, if you have two battery of 100ah and you run one flat (the leisure) there is a potential to pull 100amps through the cable when the loads are connected, if all the correct relay are connect properly this shouldn't happen but get it wrong the system works but you could get some serious hot wires.

I think the nine can handle a fridge, not as retro looking though, 8 has 2 12v output I think 7 has got 1, I think.
