I agree with AGC. We've installed quite a few Dynamat type sheets to the engine bay and they do make a difference. We normally stick it to all the interior facing panels.
It can be quite labour intensive to do properly with all the cleaning and prep of oilly panels.
To cut a hole in asbestos you'd be required to use a specialist contractor.
I'd imagine they would use a standard hole saw in a drill with water to supress the dust on the outside, on the inside they would take a bag to catch any debris and dust.
All this while wearing asbestos masks with...
Just to summarise:
A late bay cab door lock and handle will fit an early bay even if the barrel is different.
A late bay sliding door lock and handle will not fit an early door as the lock and handle are seperate units; the early unit has the lock and handle combined.
