Hey folks. How many of you would gladly hand over your buses to a car resto or custom TV show right now if you had the chance ? if so what would your choice of show be ? 🤙

Not according to the hot rod shop that had to do a lot of work on the Ford pop rod they built, saying that its not the sort of thing they are used to custom fabricating parts. Watch Bad Chad on You tube if you want to learn about body work.

I believe there is a program/series coming up on one of the Freeview channels that is based out of Irvs Resto’s. Yeah, I’d happily let them work on my bus!

The white early bay restored in 2014 by car sos is still sat 5 minutes away from me.
Sat uncovered beside the house in all weather at the back of a drive blocked in by several other classics. It’s apparently never moved for years judging by the flat tyres of the cars blocking it.
I’m curious to see how it’s fared, but you can’t see enough from driving by.

This all started a bit with the shows that were based out of the Race Shack. Campervan Crisis I think? And then they did a couple of others.
The bus was ok as I recall, the owner was active in the SSVC. Most of the other cars were pretty dodgy I understand - definitely built to look finished for the tv schedule rather that to be ready to use.

Great replies so far folks cheers. What would put you off Ozzie ? I always watch SOS. I have seen about that Irvs garage. Should be interesting and I have heard before his work is good. I do remember watching that White bay on SOS. That was lovely. I have watched Campervan Crisis a fair few times now ha but that don't sound good about the other restos if it was just for TV though. For me personally though. I don't think I would to be fair, I'm very specific with my tastes and if something isn't correct, done right or just looks wrong to me then it would bug me and I would have to change it or else I couldn't rest. For instance late bay repair panels on an early bay. To a lot of folks it wouldn't matter and yes that bus is still on the road and lives on but for me personally it would be a big no and it would have to be changed asap with correct panels. Actually this is how bad I am, on Kindig Customs those Splitties they have done. Absolutely beautiful and done extremely well but 1 thing that bugs me big time is the paint on the body swage line. I know its custom but in my mind that is just so wrong and makes me go 🤨😬 ha. Then again my mind isn't of this world ha 🤙.

I often run the reg through mot check when watching these programs…. most never have a valid mot. 😳

I watch Bad Chad on You tube as they do an hour each night recorded but mostly unedited so you see it warts and all. He did some TV shows and he said they had to rush build to meet the producers schedule and they edit for drama .

Mostly I’m thinking similar thoughts to others in that it is just fabulous for the camera. Plus I’m not a big TV fan anyhow. However, I did see a part of a program yesterday of two fellas sorting out an ancient 62-64 ? Anglia. Well these guys made and plugged on a new front panel and I was mightily impressed with their efforts. Didn’t watch the whole thing but what I saw was verrrrry good.

Ozziedog,,,,,,,,,,,So these guys praps :)

If you want to see some real quality work then watch the Hayburner TV series on You Tube where they project managed a split bus build for Ewan McGregor. Superb work.
