    Smiths retro EB Tacho

Has anyone fitted one of these tachos from Just Kampers to their bay and was it straightforward? I’ve just fitted one today and the holes in the securing ring were way off the holes in the back of the dash instead meant cluster. This meant that I had to open up both holes in the securing ring...

Rear arch repair on a ‘71

I have a US ‘71 Westy and needs for take a look at one of the rear arches as it’s bubbling. If, when I take this back, I need to purchase a repair panel could you tell me if it’s the earlier panel or the later panel that I need (these seem to be listed >70 or 72>) Many Thanks

    Rear quarter light catch

The black knob is missing off the catch on my rear quarterlight in my 71 Westy. Can anyone tell me if these are the same as the catches for the front windows and also if these can be replaced in situ or do I have to remove the full side window and quarterlight?

    Windscreen rubber

I need to replace my windscreen and as such have just bought a new rubber in advance. Rather than being black the rubber is a blue - grey colour. I bought that this might just be something done at the warehouse but giving it a wash has made no difference. I’m thinking that this is going to...

Westy Roof Racks - what do you carry ?

In order to create extra space in the bus I need to start using my roof rack more but am struggling to find what I can actually carry on there. My awning is too big/heavy to get up there. I was toying with the bedding but am paranoid that if that gets wet then your camp away is scuppered so...

    V55 updates

I’m finally getting around to updating my V55 to reflect the bigger engine that has been fitted to my bay. I’ve updated the capacity on the form but can’t see an engine number on the long block. Anyone know if this is likely to be a problem or do you just leave this field alone, just updating...

    Fuel pump stud removal

I’m wanting to replace my fuel pump block off and replace it but with one with a 90 degree fitting for the breather. The problem is once the block off plate is in place there isn’t enough room to add the fitting. I can add this first to the block off plate and slip it over the studs but then...

    Ram pipes

Daft question but I've just had my engine / carbs tuned on a rolling road and one of the suggestions was that adding Ram pipes would also help. If I now add them will this 'displace' anything that was done during the rolling road setup ? Cheers

    Wanted - plastic air scoops

Does anyone know where you can get the plastic air scoops from for an EB in the UK ? Cheers

    Oil temperatures

For a fully loaded westy, motorway diving at 65mph what's your temps at? I'm thinking mine is too high, the engine is a 2165, full flow with cooler but it's still hitting 120 degs.

    Bell housing question

Bit of a strange question but if I were to mate up an early starter to a later (deeper) bell housing would this result in a grinding starter motor or is it that short that it simply wouldn't engage at all and just spin ?

    Fire extinguishers

For all you guys with extinguishers fitted in the engine bay any chance of sound pics to see how and where you have mounted them? I have one to go in my bus but am struggling to work out how best to fit. The opposite battery tray is a no go as I have a leisure battery so the obvious place is...

    1971 Westy Campmobile question

Does anyone have a 71 westy with the Campmobile interior and if do can you advise if your 3/4 bed has the triangular supports? There are none on mine so I've managed to pick some up but when I went to ft them they are too short to reach the baseboard of the bed. I'm just wondering if it should...

Westy rock n roll bed supports

Could anyone post pics of the supports on the pull out section of their Westy bed or, even better, the dimensions of where they should be fitted. There’s none on my bed at the moment but I’ve acquired some and thought there would be no harm in fitting these to add some extra strength Many thanks

    Oil breathers ?

Has anyone fitted a tube style breather to their bus? Im just looking at the different breathers and really like these but not sure about the fitting options in a bus engine bay .

How to support the gearbox ?

I’ve refitted ed my rebuilt gearbox into my ‘71 and now need to refit the axles and also transport the bus to my engine builders. To fit one side of the axles I think I’ll have to jack then wheel up to ensure the holes in the cv joint align, can anyone advise how to support the box during both...

    Gearbox Nose Cone Boots

I have A '71 Westy and am just about to refit my gearbox after a rebuild. When removed the box didn't have a nosecone boot on so I've purchased one from Scholfields and fitted it. Has anyone else fitted one of these? It seems an incredibly tight fit and I'v managed to get it up to the cast...

    Bigger engines and increased cc’s

Just a quick question or those that have upped their engines in their buses. I’m in the middle of having a bigger engine built which should be ready in a month or so. My insurance renewal has just landed so obviously it makes sense to change this, presumably I can do this prior to updating the...

    Yet another cv joint question

Whilst waiting for my box to be rebuilt I'm stripping and regreasing the cv joints as new boots were needed on a couple anyhow.. The problem is each one seems to have been assembled differently. Putting them back together I'm proposing :- Outer body - the single groove is to face away from the...

What VHT paint for heat exchangers?

Got some new heat exchangers to fit to my bus but it looks like they’re just coated in a shipping primer. Can anyone recommend a VHT paint they’ve used with success, did they cure it etc ? It will be a problem to cure them on the bus as the new engine is being built so was wanting to prep...
