I’ve refitted ed my rebuilt gearbox into my ‘71 and now need to refit the axles and also transport the bus to my engine builders.

To fit one side of the axles I think I’ll have to jack then wheel up to ensure the holes in the cv joint align, can anyone advise how to support the box during both the lift and transportation so it’s not hanging on the mount.

Also have limited resources at the moment or no iron bars or chains ???

I found the best way was to use a small ratchet strap and wrap it around both of the rear chassis legs

You could also use a rope or something to that affect.

Ozziedog,,,,,ditto

The other thing with the ratchet strap, is it’s great for getting the angle just perfect when you are re fitting the motor, because it’s very rarely perfectly level when getting it in.

Ozziedog,,,,,,,, you’ll love that bit when time comes.
