    One sweep wiper button

Ha ha. Lancashire dry 😂😂😂. I hope it works out for you, as I’m sure it will. Phil.

    One sweep wiper button

I looked into this a few years ago & ended up doing nothing! I eventually decided that for the amount of time I actually needed intermittent was not worth the cost or the hassle. I understand that the box of tricks from the US is very smart. You plug some connectors onto your switch & other...

    Leaky sliding door

I know I’m quite late on this but, do you also lift the handle once the door is closed? This pulls the door in tighter. Phil.

RED - ‘71 RHD Tin Top

One of the first items I bought for the bus was a pair of new doors from JK who has just stated selling them. (I had looked at quite a few at various shows & was becoming more & more despondent at the rusty, battered pieces of junk purporting to be the rare valuable items I needed.) Over the...

RED - ‘71 RHD Tin Top

How time flies! I’ve not posted on here for ages as I’ve been too busy & haven’t really used the bus much. Since getting RED on the road we’ve been on quite a few camping holidays & everything’s been going well - driving & camping. Things changed a few years ago when the place I had worked, for...

    JK oil temp kit

David, I maybe went ott with my gauges but I'm an engineer & data is king. I went for generic gauges off ebay - but did check calibration at work & they were all surprisingly accurate. Mounted below the dash is not exactly in my eyeline but what else can you do? Temp, as I said before is oil...

    Dash lights fubarred

Have you disturbed the gen/ign lamp if you are converting to LED? This one needs to stay standard - unless you are cleverer than me  It may all be coincidence that you can't restart. Engines spin faster with loose, or no, plugs or no compression. It may have been slow in the past but...

    JK oil temp kit

David, It looks OK to me. I have a sensor fitted to one of the oil circuit spring plugs (can't remember which - I think it's the releif valve oilway). Anyway some people will tell you that the temps you get are not accurate or meaingless. The thing I, & many others, want to know is - What is...

    Water found in fuel tank

Obviously check fuel filler cap & if possible, sender area on top of tank. Has the bus been left for a while with the same fuel in it? Ethanol in fuel has an affinity for soaking up water from the atmosphere. Our tanks are not sealed like modern systems, so that's how the damp air gets in. I...

    Narrowed beam problem

If you rotate the leaves (i.e. keep left & right as they are) then the force should still be in the same direction. Therefore the, age related, sag should still be the same as it was. Drill new dimples on the opposite faces to those they are now on. The large grub screw is M14 x 1.5 pitch -...

If you want to visit Paris in your classic vehicle......

The only way to travel round Paris is on a road bike, in a group kitted out in a well known team kit, preferrably French. Talk about parting of the waves & Red sea etc. Other than that they're nutters. :msn4:

    Progressive Weber Throttle Problem!

I have this kit on mine too & it all works fine. Phil. PS I guess you can update your profile now you seem to have a bus :)

    Rusted exhaust studs

Anti clockwise to remove. If whole stud comes out no problem as you can then attack it in the vice to remove nut if you need to re-use. I cringe when I hear this but- Lefty loosey, Righty tighty!!! Phil.

    Rusted exhaust studs

Are you binning the complete hear exchangers? If so could you slice through the J tubes close to the stids - saw or thin cutting disc. This will give you good access with socket etc. I would try & remove the whole studs by adding another nut as a lock nut & then applying force to the original...

How do I remove a speedo needle?

I would try a pair of teaspoons. Hook the spoon ends under the boss. One at 9 o'clock & one at 3 o'clock. Press down on the end of the handles. Maybe a little heat too. Hairdrier? Good luck. Phil.

    Roof Rack Identifcation.

Hi I have one just like this. I think it's a Creative Engineering item. Not 100% sure as mine's second hand. Have a look. Phil.

    Progress Pics - Dormobile X-Over

Andy, Only just seen the post. You had me worried for a moment there - till I saw you could make a good set up. Good to see you again & the good work you've done on the bus. Bloody wet up there over Christmas. We were just above Kirkstall road! Phil.

    Master cylinder to reservoir pipe

If you use the original rigid plastic pipe you will need a rubber fitting at each end. I too went the brake fluid resistant rubber pipe path. You need EPDM rubber 12.5mm ID. Cheap as chips on eBay. Phil.

    Any Early bayers around Daventry?

I'm about 8 miles away Dunchurch, Rugby. Can pop over sometime if you want. Phil.

    Engine overhaul help?

With oil drained I can think of no reason why you shouldn't. Happy fishing. Phil.
