From the picture below can someone please give me a definitive answer.

I have a petrol pump backerlite shaft that has broken in side, what I would like to do is turn the engine
upside down as is, so when retrieving the broken piece it will fall out. Oil is drained.

So will this hurt the engine in any way or cause damage to anything left.?

I do not want to remove the dissy if possible.
Any help in this matter much appreciated.

I had this happen to me had to turn it upside down to get some out , but i think this is what caused a vacum in the oil system that we only found when engine was tried !!

Good luck

Well who's a lucky boy. Thought I would try a 8mm bolt first before upending the engine.
First two try's did not work and after about five very cautious turns on the third try and a
little pull out it came in one piece. Thanks for all the help guys. Nice to have something go
right for a change.

One happy chappie....
