    Removing heater tube

I am planning to install a diesel heater under the van and funnel the hot air to the front vents. I was thinking of removing the centre part of the heater tube as shown in the picture and connecting the heater outlet. My question is what should I do at the rear? Is it ok to just leave the pipe...

    Exhaust clamp blowing

I've fitted a new exhaust pipe but it is blowing at the point indicated on the pic. What could I try to solve this? Cheers Monkey

    Exhaust fitting kit

I have an exhaust fitting kit but I am a bit confused. Firstly is there a reason there are two of the big circular clamps, I can only see that I need one? Also where the tailpipe fits to the exhaust box should the part arrowed face towards the box or away from it? Cheers Monkey

    US spec indicator stalk?

I've narrowed down my lighting issues to the indicator stalk which will need replacing. The current one has 7 wires which seems to be identified as US spec by AHSchofield and Just Kampers. Does this mean someone has fitted the "wrong" part in the past or would this be the correct one for my...

    Headlamp Relay for 1970 bus

My headlamp relay looks like this. I'm struggling to find a similar one online, most are the black cube ones which also have 5 pins. I think I read somewhere that someone wired up a cube style relay to work as a replacement for my one. Is this possible or did I just dream it? Cheers Monkey

    Indicator dimmer switch or relay

My lights are stuck on high beam. Should the "click" be felt in the indicator switch or will it come from the relay? I currently have no physical "click" at the indicator stalk and can't find out whether it's the relay that's broken or the indicator switch. Cheers Monkey

    Ignition barrel starter switch issues

Trying to cure an intermittent starting issue. Having eliminated the starter motor, the hot start relay and ignition wiring as not the problem, I've now got the steering wheel off with the intention of changing the starter switch. However, now I've got it out i recognise it as a relatively new...

Is this battery sealed or standard?

I feel like an idiot asking this but is this battery sealed or standard? I need to know which setting to put my charger on. It doesn't state it anywhere on the battery and searching online doesn't seem to give any advice on this model. Cheers Monkey

    Steering wheel repair

The good news is I've removed the steering wheel, the bad news is a hoofing chunk of Bakelite has snapped off. I have the chunk, can it be glued back in place and will the wheel still be safe to use? Cheers Monkey

Parts For Sale Walkthrough seat frame

I've had this frame kicking around in the garage for years and I'm fed up catching my ankle on it. I have absolutely no idea what it's worth, how old it is, who made it, or what goes on top of it. If anyone would like it please feel free to make me an offer (if that's allowed) Cheers Monkey

Bypass ignition switch with a button

After years of starting issues I've narrowed the problem down to a dodgy ignition switch, I can turn the key and get dash lights but when I give it a quarter turn to start the engine I get nothing. Sometimes a thump to the steering housing will work but it's too hit and miss to rely on. As a...

    Painting rubber cab mats?

My rubber cab and seat surround mats are brown and some of them need replacing as they are falling to bits. I've searched and searched online and all I can find are black ones. I'm wondering if it would be possible to paint these with some sort of flexible paint like plasti-kote or something...

    New exhaust parts

My new exhaust parts have finally arrived. They have arrived with a factory grey coating and I was wondering what would be an appropriate way to treat the parts before fitting, do they need to painted or can I fit them and let the heat burn off the grey coating? Cheers Monkey

    Headlight dimmer switch not working

It's been a while since I've driven in the dark but I went for a dusky drive yesterday and found I can't dip my lights, or rather when I pull up on the indicator stalk nothing happens! Is it time for a new stalk or is there something specific I should be looking for if I dismantle the indicator...

    Windscreen wiper arms

Hi I have a 1970 Danbury and I need a new set of windscreen wiper arms. My current ones have the domed nut securing them. When looking online there seem to be two options: domed nut ones and plastic cover ones. Do both types fit on the windscreen spindles or do I have to get exactly the right...

    Do fuel pumps leak?

There's fuel pissing out from the fuel pump, I've checked and tightened the fuel lines and clips but it's not fixed the problem. Everything is stock so I'm wondering can fuel pumps leak from anywhere other than the fuel in and fuel out ports?# Cheers Monkey

    How low on standard beam?

My bus is on stilts and I would like to bring it closer to earth! I'm not a big fan of the look of a narrowed beam so what's the lowest useable height I can get on a standard beam? Cheers Monkey

Should I buy '68 doors for my 1970 bus?

As the subject says really, good nick '68 doors seem to be significantly cheaper than '70 ones so is there any major difference that should stop me from buying a pair?? Cheers Monkey

    Headlamp internals question

I'm sorting out my headlights and both only have three rubber grommets connecting the lamp unit to the rim (red arrows) but there is a fourth grommet hole (yellow arrow). Does anyone know if this is correct or should there be four grommets? Cheers Monkey

    Rear brake rub

My bus has been sitting for a while with the handbrake on so inevitably the rear brake was a bit reluctant to release! I took the wheel off and gave the hub a smack or two with a hammer but there is still a bit of scraping when I turn the wheel by hand. Will this be ok to drive or do I need to...
