i have read the thread on 12v & 240v power, but i am lost as i do not know that much about it, all i know is that i need 12v & 240v power in my van.

am i correct in thinking that if i fit one of these in say my engine bay,

and in turn connected to these

as long as i use one of these

to connect to the caravan site hook up, i will have 240 Volts in my van.

is that right?

then i will need;
Split charger of some sort to charge my leisure battery, and a seperate fse board/distribution board like this

that i can connect my stereo and fridge too, is that right ?

am i on the right track? if so my only other question is, how do i charge my leisure battery while i'm connected to the mains? and is it ok to use the battery while its charging?

Thanks

Mark

I think you've covered just about everything there.
I wouldn't recommend using the leisure battery while your charging it, the best time to charge it would be over night when everything is switched off.

Looks about right and male fitted to the van....never ave pins offering the power or they'll sting you...

to charge on the mains your going to need a 230V ac to 12V dc charger as it happens I have a spare charger I was going to use 12V 4A....which you could have at postage since I now have another thats slightly smaller....

Theres no reason you couldnt use it whilst chargeing other than its limited to 4 amps and obviously its going to take longer, best to charge whist sitting in the sun with a tin/bottle in your fist watching the little ones run about its not really adviseable to charge in your sleep afterall if the worst were to happen.

what you need is a 3 stage charger, it keeps your 12 volt system topped up while you are plugged into the hook up on the campsite, they are about £100. I got mine from rainbow conversions in wisbech
