Thanks siDev, it's not as good as it looks in the photos bud !!! Lol

Got a long way to go at the moment, just on with a full seal swap. Hopefully it will be waterproof soon. Lots of engine work to do this winter too but just happy to have it running

Morning guys so after a couple of long days at work i have been beavering away until the wee small hours fitting aperture seals and getting some bits and bobs back on the dash and making it look more like a complete van.

Just a quick question to you guys, how have you got on fitting seals ?? i have bought the top quality stuff from schofields but found some of the rather fat giving me issues shutting doors. Have i done something wrong ???

noboby mentions how much of a pain in the arse fitting the sliding door runner trim seal is too

Not just you, it`s me too. I`ve messed around for ages and still have to slam the doors with new rubbers on. Maybe its a dark art or a science or just wayhay too technibobby for me.

Ozziedog,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Very tricky

Well now the season is done I can report I've done 1600 miles since its up and running , that will teach me to buy a ***** distributer and electric ignition. Done a few easier bits of clean up around the van and got some curtains made for the last show we went too you can just see them in this pic

Had a little picnic then she got used as a wedding car for our good friends wedding, don't think I've ever been as nervous about driving 60miles

We just have a mountain of work to do in the off season, new twin carbs, exhaust, electronic ignition, new beam, ball joints,Spring plates etc etc etc keep ya eyes peeled

The transformation from your bus is insane! Love it, very cool ride! You made a really great job!
Best regards
Reto

Considering how **** I thought it looked matt black it looks bloody awesome now mate

couldn't wish for a nicer bus!

strips finish it off!

Thanks for your words of encouragement. The reality is I'm just started,it's a great starting point now just need to push the envelope with as low as I can go static drop and getting the engine sorted and make it look a bit tastier and go a bit better. Just thinking about alloy wheels now and working out what suits the bus.

So about time I updated my status, been sort of busy. Done a few jobs by starting off getting the new front seats redone

Then managed to get hold of a few engine bay goodies

So the engine bay is now starting to look a bit more "clean"

Only draw back to squeezing out a few ponies was I got a turbo muffler and it started out touching the floor when loaded with anything more than a cup of tea

So up she goes a bit so I've got a bit of rake now, really wanted to go lower and need a bit more narrow at the front.

So it’s been ages since I last updated my thread, lost a bit of enthusiasm after the whole issue with photobucket , bus wise not a huge amount has changed.

We’ve ran a full season in virtually the same look outside although I did snag a narrow beam

We have smartened up the interior a bit and just had a few weekends away camping

I was really proud of what I achieved but like an ***** I stuck it in show and shine at tatton park and got some rather negative comments which put me on a back foot with him and suffice to say it’s made me a little less proud of my bus

suppose that’s what happens if I don’t put bunting up in my van and spend 40k on a resto.

So did Skeg and dubs int dales and enjoyed myself

To be honest guys they probably aren’t gone forever but found that because they were vinyl they were very harsh so I might do painted ones when done

How can anyone, especially someone into the VW scene give you negative comments about your bus? It looks great! What did they say?! :?

I like it, that green colour is not that common I think. :party0047:

Thanks guys for the encouragement, the guy in question was very derogatory about the quality of the restoration and the “fake patina” I can only assume he was more taken by the cheque book resto on the Brazilian split with bunting in next to me lol
