and before anybody asks... I'm talking cc's 8)
My pretty peppy 1776 (which was previously in my bug) has just been stripped down and I'm on the cusp of throwing money at a rebuild based around a new CB 78mm crank.
Now, before I commit to the 2007 rebuild, can anybody offer opinions/suggestions for going bigger? I appreciate other factors are to be considered i.e. cam, heads, rods, pistons/barrels, carbs etc but I don't want to be thinking "If only..." in 6 months time
Also, I believe big-bore heat exchangers are now available. Is anybody running these on a bus? If so, with what exhaust header/muffler?
As the engine was previously in a bug I have a whole host of redundant bits i.e. lightened & balanced VW rods, 35horse fanshroud, 1 5/8 merged exhaust + tiger muffler, Berg 300 cam, 90.5 barrels & pistons (will need cleaning, new rings etc), Berg breather/filler, and probably more
Thanks,
Mike
