Can you still retain the heat exchangers with a 4 into 1, or do you have to fit J tubes?
If you can fit exchangers would it defeat the object regards flow?
I guess it will depend on the diameter of the header, if its a larger diameter than the exchangers then I guess it will be more restrictive through the exchangers - how much this will affect the engine though??????
Hmm, so without exhaust pods to take the air tubes from the fan, I assume you extend the hose and connect straight to the exchanger where it would have fitted to the bottom of the pods?
Just playing with a few ideas
Pretty much yeah, just get some of the bendy ali tube from halfords and just bend it round the manifold and clamp it onto the exchangers.
When I bought my empi glasspack and header it was supplied.
I run a 4 into 1 (bugpack) it fits to the heat exchangers ok. The only issue's I have are the heat risers have to be drilled and they are not fitted the same as a standard exhaust, which was designed to pull hot exhaust through the the tube. The other thing is there is extra heat being taken off the standard exhaust to the heat exchanger, which you don't have with a 4 into 1, which means the air isnt as warm as it could be, it may not be a lot but you need all you can get with these heaters!
when i fit mine(hx) i was going to take the pods off an old beetle exhaust and see if they fit the 4into1 ,just a thought let you know when i get to it eventually some day maybe who knows
