So let's start a topic for this one now that it's on the road.

Read lid and apron have been swapped, i need to paint them with matching color.

Original plates with cool frames

Nice front, all lights work!

982677.jpg

Engine right now is a 1915 I had laying around. Dual weber, Engle 110, full flow, etc. Drives great..

The steering box is shot, i'm waiting for a recon one. I'll check and change all the steering parts if necessary. The brakes are ok for now. Window mechs are stuck with windows open, need to get some from doors i have in my stash.
and then the interior needs new seat covers, big work for this winter...

The M-Plate (with super shitty picture...)

It's really a 0€ budget build right now, doing with parts that I have laying around mostly. Yes, the engine too. The steering box won't be free, but i don't have a spare one and this one has just too much play. but it's great fun to drive already!

thanks guys! yes, it's a original VWoA rack that was mine before i got the bus, I think it looks cool up there..

and, crwbus, yep that's the one!

It will look nice parked next to this when I get it back home..

Real nice bus 8)

Wish I had a 1915 laying around :(

Comes in handy from times to times.. ;)

Worked on the interior of the 68 today, removed all the seats, the floor rubbers, and the rear home made "bench/bed/..." That thing was actually pretty well made, resting on steel supports on the top bolted in the original seatbelt fixing points, so no extra holes drilled in the body!

The metal part holding the walkthrough mat looks 68 only? Usually it goes around the holes, this is just a L shaped strip of metal..

983952.jpg

The floor cleaned pretty well with no holes, just some light surface rust.

The front need a couple of small patches, should be quickly done..

Drying in the late afternoon and unusual sun..

Love It Roland ;)

The Velvet Green looks awesome on Speedmasters 8)

Thanks Grazy!

Did a bit more work on the Arizona yellow. Changed rubber under the seats, put the interior back in. Should have a rear bench seat soon and i'll install it with the Z-bed kit I have in a box somewhere. I rebuilt a steering box I found on a swap meet, changed the flector, the 6 balljoints and bars and the steering damper. Much much better! Still need to do the rear bearings...

And finally, the 2 busses are together:

I LOVE IT!

I'm really happy with the way the velvet looks on the speedmasters. The back is a little too low, i'm going to raise it a tiny bit. I also need a set of center caps for the wheels...

1004838.jpg

1004837g.jpg

It is now fitted with a safare interior from a 71 van. Looks spot on. Thanks Julien! ;) I like how the different colors work and it's a nice change from the usual westy, even if it's not as practical or as well built...

So, little updates:

Kombi now has center caps on the speedmasters. I still think the back is too low compared to the front...

1012951.jpg

The Deluxe has been fitted with a set of 15' split steelies and 215/75 bf all terrain tires. Looks cool and drives great off road..

1014678.jpg

1014677.jpg

So, ride height difference:

Kombi: 51,5cm
1014964.jpg

Deluxe: 76cm
1014965.jpg

So that's about 25cm/10'...
