i've got a 69 bay from oz, the M plate decoder says its a 68, but the dvla have regested it as a 69. I've changed the front beam for a cut and welded one i got cheap. i'm looking to sell the beam i took off and want to know if it is a 68, as i've heard its worth more!
so can someone please tell me what the difference is and what numbers should be stamped on it? there is a number on the outside of the bit that bolts to the chassis (drivers side). Thats not stamped on though its 2048453.

thank you

1968 and 1969 beams are the same, the difference for 1970 is wider bolt spacing at the mounting point, the 68/69 beam has the same spacing as splits.

I wouldnt say its a case of it being worth notably more its all on condition and remember stock beams are abundant with the amount of lowered beams being produced.....

they can hang around for months ask Grazy he had his for a year and it was a good solid beam....

Your M plate will be right for confirmation post your chassis number opr M plate details as I know one of the automatic decoders has issues with the dating.... the DVLA date is a registration date so it could be a 68 registered in 69

Mods can you move this thread to for sale forum please if possible -

Seen this beam folks and its rock solid. Little bit of rust visible in pics but its DEFINATELY only surface rust, will come off with a light wire brushing ready for a drop of the old por15.
