I was wondering what type of sun visor should be fitted to my 68 Dormobile. At the moment I have one of the newer visors with the mirror cut out on the drivers side. Obviously it's not correct. Then passenger one is old, worn, larger and and deeper. Is it likely to be splitscreen? :?

Yet another '68 only part! Sounds like your passenger side one is original, they are a very different shape to the late ones, deeper and not as wide. I am needing a '68 passenger side visor (lhd) and in the meantime have late ones fitted even though they don't look right. You could always fit a later rear view mirror to fill the space in the cut-aways and not many folk would be any the wiser... ;)
But I'm holding out for a second '68 visor. Wanna do a deal, your old one for a pair of perfect later visors? Maybe a couple of quid your way if your old one is nice.
Am sure splitty ones are completely different again and won't fit in a Bay.

Thanks for that. I did have a horrible thought that maybe we were looking for a 68 only part again. My original visor has broken inside somewhere and doesn't stay up now. However I will try to fix it now I know its original and hope to find another eventually. Thanks for the offer of buying it but will keep hold of it for now.

Cheers Rob

The offer to buy was very tongue in cheek, as hard to find as '68 only parts are, anyone with a '68 wants to find the 'correct' components! Also, as my old Dad says, 'if you don't ask, you don't get'
Good luck with the search, I have been looking for the last three years and have not found a single one for sale anywhere. I don't mean they have been highly priced or too far away or anything like that. What I mean is that in three years of searching I have not found a single '68 sun visor for sale anywhere regardless of condition or price. Hence my suggestion of using late visors and a late mirror so at least things match and work together.
Good luck with the search my friend, if you find two, give me a shout please!!! :D
