Glad you feel you have made the right decision and good luk with the sale.

Cheers - i am quite enjoying it though at the mo - been using it for works loads! Discovered my front left wheel brakes are sticking a bit though. Have tracked it down to a sticking brake cylinder - typical after fitting all new ones! Got a replacement being sent though tomorrow fro custom and commercial so will fit that asap - probably wasn`t helping my fuel economy!!

Also after looking at all the pics i took for the for sale ad, i have decided that it will defintely look better another spline down so going to do that prob on sunday morn - will take some pics while i do it do aswell i think to show that its not that tricky at all.

Payday tomorrow aswell so going to order a cab floor carpet from JK - will make it look much more homely and comfier :)

Shame you have to sell it but if needs must..........
I used to use mine as a daily and also found the 22'ishMPG a bit of a bank balance buster but i just bought an old Escort van that does about 40MPG so i now just enjoy Rusty whenever i can. 8)
Whoever buys this will know that they have a nice solid base to start from

:) got the lowering stick out this morning and its down another spline at the rear and matched at the front -

Thought i`d put a bit of an update on here - i`ve been using the van everyday and i must have done about 1200/1300 mile in the last 6 weeks or so - i sold the golf yesterday so now my van is my only vehicle!

The steering has freed right up now the ball joints have worn in. I can cruise at 60mph - a`little` slower up hills  . I`ve calculated the mpg and i reckon i`m getting 27mpg or thereabouts which i don`t think is bad at all for a van :D I think if i fitted twin carbs and a nice exhaust, i could push that up to 30mpg maybe.

Last weekend, i finally got round to fitting an interior to the cab area. I thought it`d help sell it and to be honest its alot more homely there now!

I bought some carpets off here - thanks 72-funk! I was really pleased with how the door cards came out - the hardest part was getting them the right shape as i had no old cards to use as templates. I cut them from plywood, sprayed some stencils and then finished them with wood protector stuff i had. I really must get a interior door pull for the passenger door though!!
