Hi im new to the site and thought I would post a pic of a very sad looking 69 devon tin top I just bought. A resto to be started as soon as i get my workshop put up (hopefully in the next month or 2). The outside is in quite a state but in side is in very good original condition, how original is a question for you guys 'in the know' to answer. I will post more photos as and when i get to grips with the site !!
well when i say i will post a pic what actually mean is i will get my m8 lee to post them for me as i havnt worked that bit out yet lol :?

first of all welcome to the forum Dale.Went to see dales bus the other night and couldnt belive the interia i think he has a good score here and i know Dale and i know he will do this bus justice.yes it looks pretty rusty but to be honest i think its not too bad.i looked at the cab floor and its near enough rock solid just needs a little patch drivers side.watch this space for an awsome devon rebuild slammed to the floor i hope Dale.now go get on with it pal

Good luck mate and we will keep you encouraged on here dont you worry bout that.

think i might need it m8, gunna be a long expensive road but looking forward to getting stuck into it. i can see a fair few foreigners gunna need painting along the way ha ha

I love the devon interior, exactly the same as I had my old devon, brings back memories. looking forward to seeing the progress.

The interior looks great condition and pretty much complete, you even have a stand for the stove (these are pretty rare). You've also got the same interior panels as mine. Here's mine to compare, slightly different lay out where the stove is.

Do you know what conversion yours is (caravette, eurovette, torvette etc)? There should be a plate riveted on the passenger door.

hi jeremy thx for the pics of your bus to compare i think they might be the same layout? i just had a look at the plate on mine and its says its a devon caravette, like i said b4 i just cant wait to get started on it, 7-8 months down the line i will prob be saying wish i hadnt, lol
thx for looking mate
no probs on the hijacking m8 pile on in hope you get the answer your looking for !

taken engine out today to reveal some pretty groty rear chassis legs.
After talking to a few people end everyone saying make sure you use good quality panels, has anyone got any advise as to who to use for panels and who not to ?

Looking very familiar! ;) good luck with the resto bud, body looks just like Mollie, but your interior looks excellent, bonus find!

ref panels, I'd use body cuts wherever possible, they're so much easier to fit, everything lines up. If nothing available, try Autocraft who are now making some panels for Early Bays. I've used them for Top Hats, Crossmembers etc. Really good quality panels. Otherwise, if you can get away with genuine panels, most are OK, some are crap. Best to ask on here before purchasing. Hope that helps?

well shed/workshop/barn shell up just waiting for complaints to arrive before roof and cladding goes on then bit of lecky work and im away lol

Well i been busy since last post. Shed went up shortly after then after a little deal with a welding guy that needed a mk1 escort painting, we swapped a welding job 4 a paint job and did the deal as the deal progressed the escort got the paint job and my mate rob finished welding the bus bar a bit here and there. We swapped back a wk or 2 after the late may bank holiday 2 months on and the bus has been bare metaled, filler work done. Spray filler work is 99% done and now i got dad back on the case we are nearly at primer stage. Bus is back down off the axle stands on the back, lowered by creative engineering spring plates. The front is on the jack undergoing a splitty king and link pin front beam with adjusters and lowered spindles.
Another wk and im hoping to have in primer, then paint the wk after that, if i can work out how to put pics up will do shortly.

bus is now sat all masked up on axle stands in the spray booth, i was just about to paint and booth packs up !! hopefully if fixed tomorrow i will paint first colour after work
