The engine I was told is a 1776cc its a AS41 Mexico case and its appears to have a leak

The Fuel pipes where just down right dangerous, there was no filter and the pipe from the tank to metal pipe had no clips on it, the pipe from the metal pipe to the fuel pump whilst it had clips it pulled straight off  and the pipe from the fuel pump to the carb fell apart when I took the clip off.
Also since noticed the metal pipe has some nasty nicks in it so replacing that as well.

So pulled the engine out to sort the oil leak out. It had a orange elring seal fitted which despite not being able to see anything wrong with it, was covered in oil. I ordered two 'genuine vw' flywheel seal (one as a spare) from Status and they arrived in Elring boxes  so after complaining the guy told me they supplied the factory so they as good as genuine (crap?) any way the first seal pulled on one side and the side and didn't go in properly, so ripped it out again. Pushed the spare seal in and same again, but not so bad so left it in.

Checked the end float just under the limit just under 0.12mm (I think .013mm is the limit) I'll shim it next time around

The clutch looked brand new which was a result, so went to put the fly wheel gland nut, I don't have a 300lbs torque wrench so basically got a long tube on the end and tightened up... and managed to snap it!

Has anyone done this before? done a proper number on it. I actually scared myself as I though how the f*** am I going to get the thread out but luckily it just turned out with my fingers... phew!

Drove down to Karman Konnection to get a replacement gland nut and was telling the guy about the flywheel seal and his opion was it would probably leak so he said change it for a OEM one and though oh yeah here we go again but he wasn't joking

So pulled the 2nd Elring seal and fitted the new OEM one and it fitted great! and felt like it hugged the flywheel a lot tighter when I fitted it
