Hello you fellow earlybayers!

Just wanted to let you know that I am considering selling my Sierra Yellow 1971 Micro Bus. It's a walk-through version with a nice black vinyl interior and a full-width rock'n roll bed that I made with my own two hands using genuine Westfalia hinges. The Bus is in very good condition and has been totally realiable in my daily use, also today. It has a 1600 cc engine that was totally rebuild about 10 000 kms ago with brand new dual port heads and forged Mahle pistons & barrels. Also worth mentioning are, I guess, a new battery, good tyres with lots of thread, opening 1/4 lights and an Eberspächer BN4 gas heater that was ordered as an optional extra and installed by the factory. Nice.

Steelwise the bus is in good condition and has only a minimal amount of rust at the rear corners and seat belt attaching points. The bus hasn't had any rust repairs done in the past. Potential buyers will no doubt also wanna know that the Bus has had a smack (in the 80ies) on drivers side side panel and the mess has been cleaned by covering the original messed-up panel with another sheet of metal instead of replacing the existing panel. From the outside everything looks nice except for the fact that two of the vertical seams are "missing" under the window level. From the inside you wouldn't notice a thing. The nose of the Bus is a little smacked too, but nothing major there.

£3900 shipped to Tilbury

Many thanks for reading this announcement.

I did go out with my camera last night. This really is a baaargain. Nice.

Mostly original exterior paint, all original interior paint. Nice and clean headliner. Clean and healthy floors. Only one little bit of rust in the cabin floor under chauffeur's feet.

Genuine VW rubber mats and door cards all round

Rock 'n Roll bed with 3-point inertia reel safety belts for two passangers or children's car seats. Seat and seat belts fastened with great care.

Nice and tidy stock engine that has only done 10 000 kms after rebuild. Luggage space over the engine bay in great NOS-like condition with 0-miler Michelin X spare tire. Nice.

Imported to Finland when new. Has spent the majority of its life in northern Finland. M-code breakers among this happy crowd may notice that the Bus was ordered from the factory without the rear seats. That is true and has to do with the taxation. The bus was used as a utility vehicle and registered as such.

Rear corner rot. Seat belt fastening point behind drivers seat is a little bit rotten too.

The missing seams. The accident repair is nicely done. Don't know why they did the upper edge like they did though. A few feet away the driver's side looks very good. No worries underneath.

Hey (Moi) Jarkko

Looks like a solid bus and worth the money for someone looking for a 'left hooker' - shame I have no room for another.

Good luck with the sale

Cheers

James

To be honest I think it would be worthwhile for you to get the welding done at the seatbelt points and possibly the arches too and then advertise it at a higher price to cover the cost.

The potential work might be putting people off from what is otherwise a very straight bus.

Thanks for your comment, Hippo. I'm all tied up in my house project so I'm advertising the Bus "as is" which I appreciate is probably not the cunniest thing to do. At the moment I have no other option to choose from though. Good bus, you buy buy.

Looking at this bus i think it`s an absolute bargain. Ok there are some issues but at least they have been pointed out and it will not cost a lot of money to have a very tidy bus....someone needs to get on it

A pair of genuine reconditioned heat exchangers and an NOS VAG exhaust going in tonite. Buy now, smile later.

Oh boy, this is one hot bus now. No probs driving all year round with working genuine VW heat exchangers and a BN-4. NOS german Lange brand exhaust now part of the package too.

4 inch narrowed adjustable balljoint beam added on the options list. Installation service not available, sorry. :D
