Aircooler
Well-known member
Hi guys!
I'm new here so I wanna say some words about me. I'm Reto, 27 years old and I came from Switzerland. Since 15 years, aircooled Volswagen are a big part of my live. When I was 16 years old I bought my first car. It was a 71 Superbeetle witch I restore over 7 years.
After the restauration the Superbee looks like this:
Now some years are gone and I think it's time for a new aircooled Volkswagen in my garage. I'm searching a long time for baywindow or split. But in Switzerland it's really difficult to find a good car. After a long search I found not so far away a 72 sierrayellow westy.
This was the day when I and my girlfriend pickup the bay.
The preowner:
First step was to clean up the bus.
Lot of dirt on the roof.
Then it was time to go home!
We put all the interior out and found some interessting things.
The roof was the first thing we start with.
My girlfriend polish the roof.
The westy pop top need also some work. The wet weather in Switzerland isn't the best for the wood-parts on the roof!
After we mount some new woodbar it looks much better.
New canvas.
And back on the bus!
There will be a lot more work on the bus! The bus will need some serious welding. This part will be done by Thomas Koch from Hammered Inc. He and his brother Fabian build the famous chopped splitbug who makes best of show at the Volksworld Show 2010!
