Hi all
I have the gearbox out of my 69 westy on the floor and doing a bit of maintenance,
Im replacing the ball at the end of the hockey stick,input shaft seal,shift rod seal
I ordered 2 cv shaft seals but after removing the old ones,the new ones are deeper by about double,
I got them from VWH,i fitted one but it wont sit flush with the top of the housing as was the old one,
I am able to fit the plate with the 2 holes over it but im concerned they will cause leaks later on.
Also i read about putting a shim between the rear housing and the bearing to stop it from moving,
What shim ?
How do you secure it ?
