Hello everybody anybody..... Brand new to forums so i don't even know if this is in the right section but here goes...... I have become the proud owner of a totally original Danbury 3rd owner since 1970.....I don't want to change too much to the interior or the bus itself but i need to keep the kids and wife happy so i need to add leisure battery and more outlets for things like tv's, sat nav, mobile phone charger, etc ,etc I'm looking for advise in how to go about adding the extra electrics as i'm sure some of you have done this before and i only want to do it once.....Thanks in advance guys

welcome Jason,

in fairness your question can be met with a ton of other questions... what do you have, what do you want to have, which battery do you want to run them from, how/when will you be using them, your skill level etc etc etc etc :)

where about are you?

Hi there, Yeah I thought that it might be a bit vague..... I have nothing apart from radio and interior lights, I would like 12v sockets for using things like sat nav travel DVD players, etc. I would like to have a leisure battery and I want the stuff top run from what ever the normal is....(if there is a normal) I will be using some parts when traveling and some when camping, skill level is fairly competentI am in Kent on the Island of Sheppey.....Thanks for replying

I did this on my van a while ago.

Split charge system (you need a good alternator, got mine from Machine 7) will charge the leisure battery on the move.

A CTEK charger. There is one which will charge the battery & give you 12v when plugged into the mains so you don't have to use your battery when hooked up.

A 240v hook up kit.

Make sure everything is well earthed.
Make sure everything is well fused.

I invested in a carbon fibre leisure battery. You can use this battery as a back up starter battery just in case, which most leisure batteries won't do.

Put the battery is a battery box too. Neat & avoids any spills.

I hope this helps. Cheers, Terry

Thanks Terry, Yeah that helps alot.... Just out of interest what was the approx cost? Jason
