Any tips on getting the sliding door runner covers off

I've taken out the bolts, pulled out the rubber trim to give a little more slack but I still can't get the little fe*er to shift....

Anybody got some tips on the 'knack'?

I done mine by tapping the bottom of it upwards with a rubber mallet on a block of wood , careful of your paint !!

Not worried about the paint, that's the reason I'm taking it off

Is it one of those things where actually it is just a case of carefully applied brute force works?

How about the retaining strip screw that's just visible when the sliding door is open?
If that's rusted up, you may need to do this

to get at the bugger. It's just visible above the U hinge.
Oh, and there's another bolt through the pillar at the front of the cover as well....

Yep, removed 3 bots in total. I'm guessing the whole thing is just rusted together....

Yes but which 3, there the 2 outside, one from the inside and them the one that is accessible down the side of the sliding door when its open that clamps the cover into place, you need to wind it off to release the clamp and use a dead blow/wooden mallet on the bottom edge of the cover, they do need a bit or a clout to free them,

There's 4 in total. Two holding the bottom of the track cover, one through the pillar and the fourth is the retaining strip screw.
Even getting medieval on mine with a lump hammer, I had to cut it off in the end.
