the square festival in borth was very family orientated.only 5 minute walk and you are on the beach, great for the kids, also plenty of places nearby to extend your stay for as little as £10 a night,we went in it's 1st year and saw the likes of Pendulum & alabama 3.As mentioned earlier Shrewsbury folk festival, not only for old folk, i was amazed at the new levels and extremes the youngsters are taking folk to nowadays. You might find some of the smaller festivals are just as enjoyable, one favorite of ours is the Togfest music festival in milton keynes, which will be back next year after a 2 year abcense because of extensive building work in its listed buildings. The bands are all fringe bands on the verge of making it in the music industry, plus there are workshops which are all free, whether you or the kids want to try your hand on a didge or african drums etc, and to cap it all off, costs very little for the weekend.
