I know it's been discussed before but does anyone on here have one? Or had a chance to see one in the flesh?

I'm considering the possibility of potentially maybe getting one :msn4:

We saw one in a van on the border restoration stand (bus types iirc), looked really well made and does open the van up enormously as you'd expect.

Other than that I can't can't comment :p

My biggest concern would be how does cutting out the bulkheads affect the structural integrity of the bus? 2 big chunks of steel I think you might need. Could be wrong. :?:

I was debating this idea as my van came with the bulk heads already removed (some crazy previous owner got a bit happy with the plasma cutter  )

My mate is looking to get one in his late microbus, he said £1100.00  I dont knows whos it is at that price....

I like them it makes great use of the space thats for sure!

I'm with Chris (aspro) on this one, I wouldnt remove the bulkheads from a bus as they are part of the integral strength of the bodyshell itself, late bays came with bulkheads removed but extra strenghening was added from the factory.

Do you know what the extra strengthening was Graham ?
A mate has a '77 westy with a passenger captains chair and I've noticed a triangle near the seat belt mount, is there more than that ?

Not entirely sure what else they did apart from that strenghener you've seen but I would suspect there would have to be more than that possibly additional sections in the b post, seen a couple of earlies without bulkheads in and they are very flexy by the cab doors.

I'm with Graham on this one... I toyed with the idea of installing one of these but I was not convinced that removing the bulkheads was a good plan....
