Cheers

i remember reading about this on vzi ages ago.
Looks like something i need as im after some white band tyres myself.

Looks like i could be the one testing it out then.

I've been given a price of £40 for the whole set. The tyres on the van are like new so don't see the point of replacing them for proper white bands, but then again don't want cheap looking jod either.

Keep us informed, mine have white bands and are in good nick but i know the probs some have had laying there hands on them new....and I'm wanting to shoe some spares I have....

Im looking at getting this done. Where is this guy based? Just as a note your tyres need to have done some mileage or they will bleed black colour through the white. Basically your rubber needs to fade.
Good price mind you.

the number is manchester area 0161

this is a better gallery of how its done.

Based in Sale which is on the outskirts of Manchester.

I've had it done on a couple of cars in the past - the results are great, though I've heard stories that some MOT centres frown upon it as it removes material from the sidewalls in the process, though I've never had any problems.

Here's my old van before having them done and after (in the hands of the new owner)

that look classy dan.

easy... i think this is the only way youll get your low profiles with a stripe round them... 8)

red would look cooler on your van anyway.

Red for me too............. need to get some lower profile front tyres first and get about 500 miles on them.

I know Bruce had this done on his old bus and said it was ace :D Not badly priced either and better than the flaps 8)
One for the Ghia me thinks

Bay area rods in Poole have quoted me £50 for a red band on a set of 4 tyres. Deffinitly need those 165/55s now.

Clyde - My green van is now owned by Gav of South Coast Customs - maybe worth giving him a call to see how much he paid to have them done if you're this way?

Have you got a Number? Ive googled it and cant find him although there is a bike shop by the same name.
