As above really, does anyone know what has happened to fut bus? my mate has tried calling with no success, and the website has gone, does futbus exist any more ?

Thanks

Mark

not sure. I remember I got in touch with them ages ago to get a set of rear hubs and drums drilled and slotted for 5x130 Porsche pattern. Got a price off them and Alex at transportahaus. Wish I took em up on the offer as its about double the price now

Company status: Active - Proposal to Strike off

Which means they haven't filed any tax returns and Companies House will strike them off or the company has reached the end of its life and they have chosen to end their Ltd company.

Their site is dead, facebook hasn't been updated in a year, so I can remove Futbus brakes from my options!

I think they are now trading under a different name, go to http://www.vwbuses.co.uk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and take a look...

I was gutted when I read this thread as I'm planning on putting futbus brakes on mine and thought I'd missed the boat.. Looks like its just a change if name??

Sounds like this fella needs to complete a business management course!!

Hi Guys

I have only good things to say about Futbus and the service they have provided me in the past and my dealings with Dave Howes have always been good so not sure whats gone wrong.

Suggest that if you'd had no dealings with them then its not worth making derisory comments as it only beings the forum down.

Agree with the sentiment, but worth saving others throwing good money after bad? We can be objective about how a company does business and offer feedback accordingly? Reputations are hard won by the good guys and the VW scene *does* attract a lot of fly-by-nights as well as some genuine good eggs...

Friends don't let friends get burned though, and it's always good to hear about experiences good and bad.

But I *do* agree that supplier-bashing isn't good karma, every business has good days and bad... it's how they act when they get it wrong that elevates suppliers such as VW Heritage / Machine-7-like levels of good-eggness. :)

Agreed but not a single person posting on this thread has had any dealings with them and are basing their comments on a thread on another forum where you are only reading one side of the story.

I have had dealings with them and they have always been good but I was as shocked as everyone reading the other thread as their product was great for early bays, was cheaper than the csp kit and didn't use virtually obsolete vauxhall components in their design.

We just have to be careful slagging suppliers off on open forums when we don't know the full story as it brings the forum down and makes more work for the mods, I thought this point had been made clear not that long ago.

I agree totally with you Graham... But in this thread I don't see anyone giving Futbus or VWBuses a public stoning.. Someone asked if they knew what had happened to them, and by reading a thread found by a google search, I put 2 & 2 together and worked out what might have happened to the company... Regarding the rest of the thread, once you've read it, it would be difficult to ignore surely if, like me, you are looking to spend the best part of a grand on a new braking system.. Whilst this thread is only 1 source, it doesn't paint them in the best light and I'm sure anyone else in the same boat might be a little nervous about going down the Futbus route now... But on the flip side, I was pleased to hear of your positive experience with them to add a bit if balance to the story... I do still think the kit offered is a good alternative to the CSP, but you can buy that from reputable sources and there's lots of people running it that are more than happy....

No conclusion to this post really, I think each person can make up their own mind, and I agree, no public stonings on EarlyBay, but surely we can pass comment on something we have read elsewhere...

I have a Futbus rear disc kit on my bus and I can only praise Dave and his products. He bent over backwards for me to get things right, shame he's gone, top bloke !

Same here, I bought an unfitted front disc kit from the SSVC and had major problems with fitting.
Dave sorted everything, even though I hadn't bought them from him.

Had good dealings with Dave, and brakes are fab. If they're for sale somewhere else now then I'd def recommend. Golf calipers and pads, merc vented disks, standard bearings and a bespoke hub for wide 5's.

i'm sure there's lots of companies and individuals struggling to make their way in the world. Avoid the fraudsters, support people that make good bits for your bus.

Good to see some more positive comments about Dave and his products which completely back up my own experiences.
