........what's important in life.

I went to a good friend's Mum's funeral this afternoon. Funerals are never great, but 4 days before Christmas, that's grim.

And about half an hour before I left for the funeral, I got a call from my best mate Kay, who went for her 20 week (pregnancy) scan on Wednesday only to discover that the baby had no heart beat.

So yesterday she went back to the hospital to be induced, and gave birth to a 20 week old stillborn baby boy.

Nobody deserves that, but for Kay, who has always been there for me in troubled times, the loss of her 3rd child during pregnancy is almost too much to bear. But she still unselfishly asked how I was.......

And now I'm at home with my family and it makes you realise what's important in life. And as much as I love my VW's, at times like this, when emotions are raw, and maybe you or the people that you love are in pain, they pale into insignificance.

The love of your family, and friends, is what's important guys and girls, so with that in mind I ask you all to remember that and have a great Christmas and New Year, with those that matter to you the most. Bury those hatchets, move on, get out there and live your life, enjoy......

Carole

That's terrible news Carole, our thoughts are with your friends and family.

Your sentiments are spot on, I'd like to wish you a merry christmas and prosperous new year...

thats not nice any time let alone just before christmas.
we had a funeral today as well, one of my dads best friends died in his sleep last week.

lets hope next year turns out better for all

.. all too true ... so important to get that kind of perspective at times like this ...

Thoughts with you and your friends over this time of year!

Remember that these things happen all the time and there are always people
worse off than you :(

2008 is a new start for most of us and lets hope that it will be a good one for all :D

you never know what's round the corner. make the most of everyday as though you've been told it could be your last. don't put things off, don't exit on an argument and never take life for granted....

have a lovely christmas and appreciate everything that you have and are able to accomplish

Sorry for the bad news Carole.
I think your advise is very good.Family and friends are important and it is well worth the effort to keep good relations with everyone.

My sister has terminal cancer, i might not be able to spend christmas with her and her family  . Shes just out of hospital due to a really bad bug she picked up that nearly killed her because of the low immune system after the chemo, and now i have a nasty flu, and im gutted as this will probably be her last christmas. To top it all my mum is in the end stage of her Alzheimers shes only 60. My words of advice are exactly the same as your's, Carole...

spend time with all your family, be nice to your mum. No matter how bad arguements are, sort them out as life is too fragile and too short,

....and enjoy your VWs, Happy Christmas  .

Hey Johnny.....

As Gninnan said, there are always people who are worse off than you...

Really sorry about what's going on for you right now, my thoughts are with you matey, take care and I really hope that you do have a good Christmas.

And thanks and best wishes to all EB guys and girls.....

Carole

thanks carole, i was highlighting exactly that, there is always someone worse off. Its taught me not to take anything or anyone close to me for granted.

Didn't mean for my words to be that poignant

My thoughts are with you guys and I wish you and all your families the
best and hope to meet with you all soon in better circumstances :D

Merry Christmas and New Year :)
