Those horrible sodding points have crossed me for the last time today

Driving up market hill in my home town of woodbridge on my way home from work a 7 pm ish, the van coughed and cut out right in the most public part of mty town

So there i was at 7.30pm outside my favorite pub, fitting a new set of points and a condenser with rather a large crowd watching me. when the vw fired up all the people how saw it break down cheered

I SOOO need a petronix kit now :(

I know your pain dood, but Petronix still fail and you will have to carry a new one or a set of points in case they do. I had one and it failed and am now back to points

I (sometimes) carry my complete spare dizzy. I have pre-fitted it, timed it and marked both the dizzy and the engine as a rough get me home guide.

Back to points for me to. From past experiance some dubs eat them some dont. Fingers crossed mine dosent.

and there was me thinking you had been done for speeding

Ditto, i expected some story about some copper hiding behind a hedge

Oh joy, i suppose i have this all to come, the last car i had that used points was an old Polo and that went through a stage of eating points every few weeks and then it sorted itself.

I suppose i best start gathering parts for a spares/repairs kit t go in the van when its on the road.
