Just a quick question but I've been under the bus this afternoon and noticed a split in the rubber bellows on the front of the brake servo.

Can anyone tell me, is this just a dust cover or does it actually have to be airtight ?

Cheers

Part 1 just vents to atmosphere usually into the dogleg as it needs clean air. here's a diagram, part 18 is a dust boot. i would guess the part is NLA.

I fitted a Brazilian servo to my 71, it did require some drilling of the fixing plate on the bus as the stud pattern is smaller/wider. The difference in price is almost £220 from a German ATE original to the Brazilian (£84). fitted 3 years ago and still running perfectly.
