Been looking for a bike rack for my bus, can anybody recommend a make that fits. If you work at Halfords, dont worry about replying. For those who aren't *******'s your advice would be very much appreciated.

i looked into this a while back as i'd lost mine(later found up the loft! ),but when i was looking it seemed the one's listed for discoverys, isuzu troopers etc with a spare wheel on the back door are favourible. They are designed to stand off the back door on these vehicles and sit fine for the rear of a bus.Dont know the make of mine and got it at a carboot, but its fitted all my recent cars...focus,subaru estate, camper so must be pretty universal

I have a fiamma rack that fits on the tail gate. Works a treat, and you can still access the rear.

Not a fan of Halfords, then???

Ive got the FIAMMA double for two mountain bikes - about £130. Really easy to fit (without drilling any holes in the van!) and easy to remove. It folds up neatly when the bikes are off too.
The bikes attach/remove really quickly and are very secure. You can even open the tailgate with two bikes still attached.

A couple of words of warning thought......

1. Wrap something soft around the pedals nearest the van as you can bump the body work when you first lift the bike up (discovered this the hard way! Wont be making the same mistake again!)

2. The brackets that go over the top of the tailgate distort the rubber seals a bit. If there is a lot of heavy rain it can come in to the van. I'll definetly be removing mine when not in use.

i got mine from halfords , the one for hatch backs, fits fine about £50 ish.........................

Cheers guys. Just what I'm after.
Thought it would be worth taking the bikes for next time the van breaks down

I bought a Pendle 2 bike one from Bluebird Customs. Sits above engine lid so still access, half the price of Fiamma one & folds flat when not in use.
Might be worth a look for you :)

Not at the moment Im not. Had to call my close friends the AA back in September when I almost made it back from yorkshire. The good news is it was the Sunday of vanfest so I knew I would get a helping hand from someone. Bad news is about 30 vans drove by but not one stopped!

 good old vw's heres my new toy that i'm building, v8 power.......... probably as reliable
