Black-white pic with a bit of colour

Just found out how to do this

photoshop....click IMAGE-ADJUSTMENTS-DESATURATE then select the Arthistory tool,...set the opasity to 100% and go over the parts you want to be in colour 8)

They are 8) ive done a few and find the more going off in the back ground the better they look.Try'd on of my van but didn't look no where near as good parked on a drive :lol:

Another way to do it would be to pen-it-out using the pen too to cut, then cut it as a new layer, desaturate the background layer and your bus will stay original colour.. :msn4:

Or got to the "pick" tool roll up menu and select "my bus" - then invert the selection and hit "fade the sh*t out of it"

I always think that they look better if there is less in the back ground so you have to look harder to notice the effect if you know what i mean.

Oooh so thats the proper way of doing it! My 17 year old self went about it the cockarse way of having two versions open, converting one into black and white, cutting the colour out of the original and pasting it onto the black and white version.

So thats little me before the dreads :lol:

I just use layers.............

Colour below, B&W on top then erase the area you want the colour (ie lower layer) to show through.

Nice pics 8) I've just had a go at the layer idea.Do you do it like this: Layer - Duplicate layer............Layer - Layer style -Satin -Blend mode - Colour - Opasity 100%..............Eraser tool - Erase for colour to show through ?

Thats about it. If i remember i just duplicate, desaturate and erase.
